I am warm, engaging and view therapy as an educational and empowering process. I see my strengths as guiding the process, but not controlling. I emphasize how each client can take charge of their unique situation and provide the tools to do so as well as over 43 years of clinical practice experience. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY and Maryland, the latter is my current virtual practice. I earned my MSW in 1979. I was employed for 42 years at a hospital on Long Island.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working in agency settings, supporting individuals across a range of needs and life stages. My professional background includes providing individual and group therapy, working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I have experience supporting adults and young adults from diverse backgrounds and am committed to providing affirming, culturally responsive care. My training in humanistic, CBT, and strengths-based approaches allows me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique goals while maintaining a compassionate and collaborative foundation.
Over thirty years of experience partnering with clients of all ages, from a wide variety of backgrounds, has confirmed for me each person has within themselves the resources and ability to become the person they wish to be and to improve their satisfaction in life.
I graduated with my Doctorate in Psychology from LIU Post in 2009. Throughout my training and professional practice I have worked with a diverse array of individuals and clinical issues, including severe mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I currently work primarily with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and who are in recovery from addiction.

You should know that I truly see you — not just your symptoms or diagnosis. Many clients come to me feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, scattered, or stuck — often after feeling unheard or dismissed by other providers. My goal is to understand the full picture — your goals, challenges, and values — and create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout your care. I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and other psychiatric concerns.
I combine evidence-based psychiatry with a holistic, personal touch. Care with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and never rushed. I don’t push medications or rely on quick fixes — I work with you to find clarity, balance, and lasting relief through treatment that fits your life.
